FAQs

smile_web_design-749546It is only natural that many people will have questions about our teeth whitening treatment, their suitability for it and its effects.

You can find out more about how the teeth whitening treatment works here and information on those for whom the treatment is not recommended here.

If you have a question not listed in the FAQs below, please feel free to get in touch by email or by calling 01223 872758.

Are you dentists?

We are not dentists, our teeth whitening procedure is a 'cosmetic treatment' carried out by trained Cosmeticians. The legalities of teeth whitening explained.

Why is The Teeth Whitening Company better?

Teeth whitening can be harmful if cheap inferior products are used and the practicioner is not fully trained or experienced. We invest in the technology, the products and on-going training to ensure the best results.

Are you insured?

All staff are trained and certified. The Teeth Whitening Company has full comprehensive malpractice insurance for laser teeth whitening treatments with cover up to £1m.

Why is the whitening treatment such good value?

A trained Cosmetician can carry out the treatment, as opposed to a relatively expensive dentist. The procedure is a purely cosmetic treatment.

How long will the results last?

We state that on average the whitening effects last 9-12 months, but less if you are a smoker and depending on other factors including your diet.

How will the treatment affect eating/drinking?

For best results you must avoid dark foods or staining agents for the first 48 hours because your teeth will be vulnerable to staining. You should avoid tobacco and any food or drink that would stain your teeth. We advise you to only have white food and drink for 48 hours after the treatment or you may stain your teeth again.

Will it damage my enamel?

No, it's a gentle treatment that does not damage the enamel.

How often can this treatment be carried out?

This depends on your lifestyle; we recommend every 12 months just touching up. You can have it done as often as you like. A saturation point will be achieved when your teeth have been restored to their original colour.

Is it painful, are any needles involved?

There is no tooth sensitivity at all but you may experience some tenderness in your gums because the teeth whitening gel eradicates the bacteria that reside between your teeth and soft tissue of the gum.

Do you use lasers?

We use an advanced LED (light emitting diode) dual band system to accelerate the whitening process. The laser produces a cold light with no heat. The light filters out harmful UV and infrared radiation providing a safe treatment without an irritation to the nerves of your teeth.

Can it whiten crowns or veneers?

Yes, although they will only return to their original colour.

Can you have the treatment if pregnant or lactating?

We advise not to. While there are no known health risks, we have not conducted any field trials.

How it works

We use a revolutionary treatment new to the UK. It does not damage the structure of the teeth and/or gums and is perfectly safe.
